When you are in Brussels, you can’t miss taking a brewery tour, and the family-owned Cantillon Brewery is a particularly pleasant experience that takes you back into its long history. Ever since 1900, the year in which it was founded, it has been brewing the beers named Lambic, Gueuze, Faro and Kriek. From then on, nothing has changed at the building, and so as soon as you step inside, you feel as if you had been magically transported to another era. You can choose from an individual or group (minimum 10 people) guided tour, or you can opt for an independent visit, after one of the Cantillon staff has given you some introductory information.
For guided tours, booking is essential, while for an independent visit, you can arrive without a prior booking, from Monday to Saturday (excluding Wednesdays), from 10am to 4pm. Whichever option you prefer, at the end of the tour there is a fantastic tasting session.
Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm, closed on Wednesday, Sunday and holidays. Entrance for independent individual visits is up to 4pm.
