Ristorante San Giorgio, near Fiera di Genova (location of the Boat Show) has been run by the Scala family from 2002 when they returned to their home city, Genoa. Their cuisine is a tribute to the city and to the products that they source themselves with constant attention to local provenance and absolute freshness. Highlights of the menu include, as an antipasto, mixed steamed seafood with olive oil and lemon emulsion, the first course dish Paccheri pasta in breadcrumbs and artichokes with smoked bacon and seafood white sauce, the main Angler fish with borlotti kidney beans and grilled polenta, and of course the superb home-made desserts. Tasting menus at €55, €65 and €70 make everything easy and offer a wealth of original sensorial experiences. The wine list also offers some pleasant surprises.
